Jobs are now rising in Leeds, more so than its southern city counterparts.
Jobs are now rising in Leeds, more so than its southern city counterparts. Outside of London, it’s considered the centre of the UK’s financial services sector with incredible talent that we want to attract to Link Group.
Leeds is up-and-coming with a strong digital infrastructure, thriving university and blossoming financial services sector. It’s being redeveloped and continues to grow with a vibrancy that surpasses most other regions.
There is already an established network of organisations and a pool of people, including a strong adviser community of accountants, lawyers, corporate finance advisers and private equity.
As part of the government’s levelling up agenda, the UK Treasury has moved to Darlington and the Bank of England’s new hub based in Leeds.
The new National Infrastructure Bank will also be based in Leeds – providing finance support to private sector and local authorities to help meet government objectives around climate change and regional economic growth.
Our Northern Hub
In 2017, we invested £27 million in our new state-of-the-art office in the city’s Central Square. At an undeniably difficult time for the UK job market, we are proud to create opportunities for so many people in Leeds.
Our Northern Hub has brought 400 new roles to the city – combined with another 450 already employed. This totals nearly a third of our workforce across the UK and Europe.
Career opportunities with us range from school leavers and entry level – including some of the young people we support through Young Enterprise – through to senior professionals and leaders.
Andrew Lelliott said,
“Leeds really is the centre for the sector in the UK outside of London. The region has some incredible talent, and talent that we want to attract to Link so that they can have successful careers without having to go to London or Edinburgh. The North is helping lead the way for financial services and we are proud to be part of that.”
